Weird Laws - New Mexico

In New Mexico

  1. In Raton, it is illegal for a woman to ride horseback down a public street with a kimono on.
  2. It is illegal for idiots to vote.
  3. In Deming, it is illegal to spit on the steps of a public building.
  4. State officials ordered 400 words of “sexually explicit material” to be cut from Romeo and Juliet.

    Wow, Number 2 kinda eliminates a whole lotta folks.

    Number 2 actually sounds like a perfectly sensible law. Enforcing it, however, may prove difficult. The thing about idiots is that they don't always immediately recognize themselves as being idiots.

    Then again... never mind voting! It should be illegal for idiots to run for public office.
