I always knew Kenny Chesney was a party animal, but as I was watching his CMT “Invitation Only” premier tonight, I learned just a bit more about him, and I couldn’t stop singing OUT LOUD. :-)
Like, the best time he ever had making a video was “Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven” with Bob Marley’s former band The Wailers. I never would have imagined that. I always thought it would have been “Summertime” or “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy”, but, I was wrong.
The song “Out Last Night” is a true personal story. It was 4-5 hours that he doesn’t remember, and had no problem admitting. Hmm. This definitely describes “party animal” to me, and I think I know a few people like that.
He once played a bar with only a bartender and waitresses. No people to sing to. Did you get that? Kenny Chesney had NO PEOPLE TO SING TO. In order to not feel like complete losers, they looked at it as a rehearsal night. Can you imagine that today? Nobody showing up to one of his concerts? Heck no.I read somewhere that his newest song “Boys of Fall” was another true personal story about his high school football days. He confirmed it is, but it wasn’t something he came up with. Someone else did, and he said, “Hey! That’s me. That story is about me and my fellow ‘boys of fall from high school’”. Awesome!
I’ve seen Kenny Chesney in concert three different times. Each one was with someone different, and a special experience just in itself. I forever am a KC fan. I urge you to check out his new video “Boys of Fall”. If you’ve ever been part of a team, you’ll totally get it’s meaning. And maybe even shed a few tears like I did.
