Eric Church – undoubtedly one of the most popular singers in Country Music. But what are YOUR feelings about him?
Have you heard his new song “The Outsiders”? Have ya, have ya? If you haven’t, you have to stop reading this right now, and go listen. Find somewhere on the internet that has it, and listen.
Look, I love Eric Church. I love his bad boy attitude, his sexy swagger, and he’s one of very few men that can wear Aviators. (Trust me on this, your husband looks stupid wearing them.)
The song is typical Eric Church style. Rock mixed with a little Country. Very little Country. There’s a fantastic Metallica guitar solo at the end that doesn’t have any place in Country Music, and should have been left out.
Country Music has taken a drastic turn in the last few years, and it’s artists like Brad Paisley and Keith Urban that, in my opinion, have led the movement on that. If it wasn’t for their loooooong annoying guitar solos in almost every single song they sing, artists like Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, and Eric Church wouldn’t have to “one up” each other and make the solo more annoying than the last.
And to make matters worse, I think the lyrics suck. I’ll change the radio station when this song comes on, as I do with every song of Zack Brown’s.
I read several comments on a few different reviews of the song, and it seems that the majority of Country fans seem to all agree. It’s way too much Heavy Metal for Country Radio. Listeners are complaining, and turning the channel. But if that’s true, how is he one of the top selling artists?
I do like some of his songs. But that is how it is for most of the artist. I like Sugarland but a lot of their songs are more pop. Thats why I dont buy albums.
